Why Discover Delta
Delta is one of Nigeria's most varied states: Urhobo, Itsekiri, Ijaw, Isoko and Anioma peoples, kingdoms older than the country, rivers that run from the Niger to the Atlantic, and an economy that reaches from oil and gas to film. Most of what's written about it online is thin, out of date or wrong.
We're here to change that, for three kinds of people: travellers who want to know where to go, investors who want to know where the opportunities are, and Deltans at home and abroad who want to stay close to it all.

How we work
Spotted something we've got wrong? Tell us on WhatsApp and we'll check it.
Two sources for every fact
We check facts against at least two independent sources, and list them on the page.
Tradition labelled as tradition
Much of Delta's history is oral. We say when a story is tradition, and where accounts differ.
Honest photos
We only caption a photo as a place if it shows that place, and we credit every photographer.
No invented listings
Placeholder events and designs are marked as samples, and we don't make up dates, prices or reviews.
Independent
Discover Delta isn't a government agency. Anything sponsored is labelled as sponsored.
Be part of it
