About this event

Issele-Uku held its Ine festival on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 September 2025. Ine Onyimi, the festival of joy, is the high point of the Ine Aho season, which celebrates the new yam harvest.

The two days brought traditional displays, a royal handshake with the chiefs and competitions between the kingdom's villages, before the Obi of Issele-Uku, Agbogidi Obi Nduka. The season closed later in the month with the Ihu Onicha ritual.

Part of the Ine festival, Issele-Uku, held every September.
