The story of Abraka

Abraka is an Urhobo town in Ethiope East, on the stretch of the Ethiope River where the water runs clearest. It is also a university town, home to the main campus of Delta State University.

What we know so far

The Ethiope rises at Umuaja and flows west towards Sapele, where it joins other rivers to form the Benin River. Abraka's history is bound up with the river and, since the university arrived, with its students.
