Invest in Delta State

Energy and infrastructure

Delta produced about a fifth of Nigeria's oil in early 2023, and that energy base supports refining, power generation and gas-based industry. The biggest project in the pipeline is the long-planned Gas Revolution Industrial Park at Ogidigben, in Warri South-West.

Gas-based industry

The Gas Revolution Industrial Park at Ogidigben is planned on about 2,700 hectares to host fertiliser, methanol, petrochemical and aluminium plants. After years of delays, a development deal worth about $20 billion was announced with Alpha GRIP Management Company and China National Chemical Engineering International Corporation.

Power and skills

A major gas-fired power station sits outside Ughelli, and the Kwale Free Trade Zone is being built around a connection to the OB3 gas pipeline. In Effurun, the Petroleum Training Institute and the Federal University of Petroleum Resources train engineers and technicians for the oil and gas industry.
